Help with Corset Lacing

Start lacing from the top of the corset working down towards the bottom.

When you have reached the waist line of the corset, you will want to create a puller loop on each side. To create right side puller loop, follow lacing diagram A-D. When you have reached grommet corresponding to "A", skip down on opposite side to grommet "B". From point "B", loop back through grommet "C". From "C", skip down to grommet "D".

You will repeat this process on the opposite side with the other lacing strand to create corresponding left side puller loop.

When left and right puller loops have been created, lace down the rest of the corset and knot at the bottom.

Helpful hints when wearing a corset:

  • ALWAYS loosen the lacing five or six inches before putting on the corset. Wrap the corset around the torso, center it, and then fasten the front closed.
  • Use the Puller Loops to tighten the corset from the back. The top half of the loop controls the bottom half of the corset, and the bottom half of the loop controls the top half of the corset, respectively. Pull slowly and evenly, manipulating the lacing until and even gap is achieved. Then cross the pullers and tie them together in a bow.
  • When first wearing a corset, it is best to start with a larger gap (4" approximately) and tighten down as you become accustomed to being cinched. Faintness, lightheadedness, and soreness are signs that your corset is too tight. A corset should always be comfortable.
  • The more frequently you wear a corset, the tighter you will be able to lace it. Our corsets are sized to allow for the leather to stretch, an average about 2". Note: patent leather does not stretch, so please go up one size accordingly.
